Welcome to Spring! A new season means it’s officially my favorite time of year: Spring Cleaning! You loved my New Year’s mini-series, so we’re back with another series to help you transition your home for spring!

A huge focus of spring cleaning is the closet transition! Let’s talk about five easy steps to get your closet ready for the new season.

1) Get a Good Look at Your Closet

Start by assessing what’s in your closet:

  • What you didn’t wear over the winter
  • Items that don’t fit anymore
  • Accessories and shoes you no longer use

2) Start Spring with a Clean Slate

  • Clear out your closet (or just the bulky winter items) to make room for spring essentials.

3) Winter Storage

Store winter gear in clear bins, placing them in your basement, garage, or closet to keep them accessible but out of the way.

4) Clean, Clean, Clean!

Here’s what you’ll need for a spring closet refresh:

  • A microfiber cloth
  • Non-toxic, oil-based cleaner
  • Your favorite playlist for motivation
  • Duster
  • Vacuum

*This cleaning method works great for Modular Closet systems. Always spot test with your cleaners, and you may want to dilute them with water.

5) It’s All About Middle Ground

With unpredictable spring weather, balance your closet by keeping both warm and cool-weather essentials accessible:

  • Front and center: cardigans and light jackets
  • Keep rain jackets handy
  • Store a few pairs of boots for cold snaps, but start bringing out those sandals!

These steps will set you up for a smooth spring cleaning experience! Keep an eye out for more spring tips coming your way. If you have questions about organization, feel free to reach me at christina@modularclosets.com.
