Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Modular Closets! The holiday season is officially here and like many this time of year, we want to give back to our community and to those in need. We are working on a few projects on our end, but I thought I may take a moment and give you guys some tips to help your space and others as we dive into the next few months.

If your family is anything like mine, the main topic of conversation during the holidays is food. Sharing meals is an essential part of spending time with loved ones. That means a lot of grocery shopping and overflowing pantries. I’ve compiled some of the best ways to stay organized and uncluttered while the holiday baking madness ensues.

First thing’s first: You have to clean out your pantry. If you haven’t used it, can’t see yourself using it, or it’s expired, you need to get rid of it. If the food is still good, you can find a local shelter or food donation spot to donate your unused food. There is always a huge push for feeding the community during the holidays so, finding a place to donate food, time, or funds should be an easy task!

We have done a few blogs and videos on organizing your pantry, so I won’t go into too much detail, but to make sure that you have easy access to all of the essentials that you will need, it’s a good idea to plan ahead and organize your food products by category. Doing this will help you find what you need quickly and make it easier for those helping you to navigate your pantry. If you want more in-depth ideas, you can find my other pantry blog here!

This wouldn’t be a Modular Closets blog if I didn’t bring up their closet systems. Winter and Fall usually mean that we swap out the sandals for boots and unearth all of the blankets and coats we can find. The good news is that you can also easily adjust your shelves on your modular system to accommodate the bulkier clothes! It’s as easy as moving the pegs to your preferred height and adjusting the shelf!

This is also the perfect time to go through your clothes and donate what you didn’t wear this year or take a look at your coats and hats and see if you are able to declutter those and donate to a coat drive or a shelter.

This time of year is so hectic but full of so many possibilities! Make your holiday season a little brighter with a Modular System!

From all of us here at Modular Closets, Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Organizing!
