One of the phrases that I hear the most is, I might wear this one day. When I was sitting with my clients and we were decluttering and going through this, everybody has said it, including myself. I might wear this one day. Then what happens? What we need to be aware of is how much we're saying that.

So if there's an item of clothing that you really do like and you haven't worn it in a while, maybe you just haven't been in a season of life where you are going out a lot, getting all dressed up, for example, if it's a dress, then I actually support that. Keep that item if you really like it and you may wear it one day. But if you're saying that over and over and over again, perhaps it's sizes that don't fit, or just it's just a style that doesn't resonate with you anymore. I think we need to accept and get more comfortable with changing our style. Right?

Our personality and our style does change over time. Our body changes over time. We don't need to keep the same wardrobe. Now, we also don't wanna be reckless with our spending and constantly buy clothes that we may wear one day and never wear. This is also a good exercise to be aware.

If I'm constantly saying this over and over throughout the years, then that's a sign that we're not being conscious of the clothes that we're buying. Perhaps we need to take more time to try them on and just make sure that we really like them. This is by far the number one phrase, but at the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves, what is the goal? The goal is to have a cluttered and organized closet that inspires you, that you are excited to get ready in, and when you're going out, you're excited to find your outfit. Right?

If that is the goal, then we don't want our entire wardrobe to be clothes that we may wear one day. And we also know that most of the time, most of the time, we never wear those clothes. We never do. Especially when it comes to if you're if you're saying that you may wear it one day because your goal is to lose weight or things like that, here's my tip for that. We're gonna segue into part 2 for this.

Happy organizing, everybody. Follow Christina's Corner for more tips and tricks of how to get organized.
