Hi everybody. We are going to continue talking about the roadblocks around clutter. This is this is an interesting topic. I'm gonna talk about how clutter actually happens. And this, when I wrote this out because I thought about it one day and I thought to myself, how does it accumulate?
Right? How if I could visualize how this journey occurs and all this stuff happens in somebody's life, how does that happen? I wrote it down. And when I wrote it down, it kinda blew my mind. We'll see what you think when you watch this too.
Utter, it's very tricky. It's it kinda plays this evil mind game on us a bit. But because it convinces us that it's not a big deal when it is because it's a lot of little decisions. And when you compound that over time, this is what happens. Let's say you're at a store and you see I wrote down I just thought of something random, but you see a cute marble cutting board.
It's not that much money. Not a big deal. It's cute. You get that. But then you go to the next store and you see a lipstick.
You're like, oh, I could use that too. Not that much money. Right? These aren't, like, big, big expenses yet. We get it and we don't think it's a big deal.
But now, imagine that done over and over, sometimes weekly, sometimes daily. I've had clients that this has happened daily, sometimes weekly, monthly, and definitely yearly. And then, compound that over decades. That's how clutter happens. And when you have the visualization of that, it makes sense, right?
Because I could think of myself going to x amount of stores this week and all the little decisions that I made. And then I could think about, well, that was only 1 week. What about last month? And what about the month before that and the year before that? Right?
Clutter, it's it's really tricky because most of the time, we're not going out and just going crazy and getting all this stuff. It's just it's little things over time. It's all the birthdays. It's all the shopping. It's all the trips.
It's all the gifts. It's all the cute little things that we see that are it's only $10 a year, $15 a year, right? That's how clutter accumulates. At least for me, when I put that into perspective and visualize kind of the journey of clutter, It all made perfect sense to me of how this happens. Hopefully, that shifts your mindset when you're out and about and you stop the cycle of it.
Then I wrote that down here and stars all around it in asterisks. It's stopping the cycle of it. In everything that I talk about in all of these videos, that's what it is. It's stopping the cycle. It's shifting your mindset and they're they seem so small These little questions to ask yourself, these belief systems, these changes in your daily routine, but they make all the difference.
Like this one quest this one thing that I'm talking about can really shift the whole trajectory of your home and the amount of clutter that comes in. These have, of your home and the amount of clutter that comes in. These have profound impacts, I promise. They sound like they're small but they have profound, profound impacts and something I wrote here just a little note, if it costs you your inner peace it is way too expensive in more ways than one. And that's what clutter does.
It takes away our peace, it takes away the time that we spend with loved ones, it takes away the time for us to just discover new parts of ourselves, it takes away just what we should be doing which is enjoying life and spending time with those we love and enjoying our home and just being happy. That is a good way to end I think, right? If it costs you your inner peace, it is way too expensive in more ways than one. Happy organizing, everybody.
