Fall Back without Falling Behind: How to Prepare for the End of Daylight Savings

11.3.2021

It’s that time of year when the sky begins to darken earlier and earlier, and that crisp fall air becomes more chilling with every passing day. Daylight savings is ending. We gain that hour of sleep we lost in the Spring, and now's the perfect time to fine-tune our routine. Christina’s here this week to give you her top tips for staying in good form while we change the clock -- and how you can make it work in your favor!

Read on to learn how you can save time as daylight savings ends!

Tip # 1: Prepare in Advance: Lay Out Your Clothes
We could all use an extra ten minutes of sleep in the morning, and by laying out your clothing the night before you can do just that. It not only prevents you from rushing and being late, but it also allows you to wake up with ease. By selecting your outfit before going to bed, you free your mind up for a restful sleep. Try using a valet rod to help you pick out your clothes the night before and wake feeling refreshed and de-stressed!

Tip # 2:  Set Up Your Night-Time Routine
One of my favorite night time organizing tips is to create a system that allows you to prioritize your sleep health. I like to have a little box or drawer filled with all my sleep necessities, and this includes things that encourage me to sleep well. Whether in your night stand or in a small container, you can store a sleep mask, essential oils, lavender spray, any night time supplements you have, and a good book. By keeping everything together and right by your side, it promotes a great night's sleep.

Tip # 3: Meal Prep for Success
One way to meal prep is by dedicating a specific pantry drawer or shelf for all your breakfast items. This will enable you to know exactly where to reach when grabbing your oatmeal in the morning. Dedicate each shelf or drawer to a food category. For example, keep a separate shelf for cereals and another for protein bars or powders.

Another great way to stay organized is to take out your breakfast items and any snacks you need for the day the night before. For example, the night before you can go to your organized pantry shelf and take out the protein powder you need for your smoothie in the morning, and take out your favorite cereal, so all you need to do is fill with milk in the morning.

I hope these tips help you conquer the end of this year's Daylight Savings!  As always reach out anytime and let me know what I can help you with. I always look forward to hearing from you. DM us on Instagram or email me anytime. You can reach me at christina@modularclosets.com.
